"Digging Up The Paisley Underground" at Rhapsody

June, 26, 2013

Two songs by The Jigsaw Seen ("Letter To The Editor" and "Tight Lips") have been included in a new "Paisley Underground" playlist posted by digital music service Rhapsody.

The "Paisley Underground" was a group of West Coast acts (including Rain Parade, Dream Syndicate, The Three O'Clock, The Bangles and others) that assimilated the influence of '60s garage rock and psychedelia in the early 1980's, filtered through a contemporary post-punk/New Wave sensibility. The "Paisley Underground" scene existed about seven years before the formation of The Jigsaw Seen but the band is honored to be included.

Rhapsody writes "though most fell by the wayside before the decade was over. A few branches from the extended family tree (Mazzy Star, The Jigsaw Seen) reached beyond the movement's initial era."
